History of MNI | Communicator of Achievement Communicator
of Achievement The Communicator of Achievement is NFPW's highest honor, given to the person nominated by his or her state affiliate for highest achievement in the communications field and service to NFPW and the community. Idaho Press Women began honoring outstanding members in 1966-67 when Louise Shadduck was selected. In 1992, NFPW changed the title "Woman of Achievement" to "Communicator" to reflect the expansion from print publications to radio, TV, photography, etc. When the honor went to a man, as it occasionally did, NFPW thought communicator was more appropriate. Nominees for the award must have been a member of MNI and NFPW for at least two years.
